Who designed this box?

The LabLyfe experience was designed around research conducted with Black and Brown children, families, and educators by a Black scientist!

The research was designed and conducted by one of ELSO’s Co-Founders, Dr. Kellianne Richardson, a PhD trained Behavioral Pharmacologist. Each month’s topics were ranked and decided by 3rd to 8th graders. Then, families and educators critiqued samples of the activities! If a child shared that they love games, we designed the next box with more games. If a parent said, “one of my children has special needs and they might feel left out”, then helper sheets are added in the box so that everyone can participate. If a single parent said, “I don’t have time to help but I care”, activities were designed to be led by a 14-year-old. Finally, all activities were aligned to Next Generation Science Standards and reads like a regular magazine. These standards are followed by 20 states and the District of Columbia. An additional 24 states have adopted their own standards based on the same framework.
